  • 1. Go to the NTSA TIMSVIRL online portal at https://timsvirl.ntsa.go.ke/#!/login

  • 5. On the Search Page, you will select and enter the vehicle details search parameters you want to search with, either; Chassis / Frame Number or Registration Number.
  • 6. The preferable option is using Vehicle Registration Number, you will enter the Vehicle Registration Number without spaces, then scroll down and click on "Enquire" button.
  • 7. If the vehicle details are in the database , a copy of the vehicle register record will appear under the ”List of Vehicle(s)” table.
  • 8. Click "Next" to go to the payment options for the search. You will then be required to make a payment of Kshs 550 which is the fee charged for a vehicle enquiry.

  • 9. Choose your preferred payment method. If the payment is by Mpesa, please note that currently MPESA Prompt is used, and these are the steps you will follow;
  • a) Enter the Phone Number you would like to pay with

b) With MPESA Prompt you will not need to enter any of the details such as the paybill number, account number or amount, all is captured within the Prompt and all you need to do is enter you PIN,

  • 10. Once the payment has been processed, you will be redirected to the "Vehicle Details" page. Here is where there are details about the vehicle and the details are divided into various sections.
  • 11. First you will be presented with a pop-up of the invoice the payment. You can choose to Print, Download or Cancel and proceed to the next steps
  • 12. The "Vehicle Details" is divided into three sections including; "Process Instance", "Vehicle Particulars" and "Inspections"
